Warframe or Destiny 2? Both games have been out for years, both are popular, both can be hard to get into, and both are begging for you to try them out. In this guide, I’ll tell you which one I think is best in 2024.

Surprisingly, there are similarities between Destiny 2 and Warframe despite having distinct gaming styles and payment methods. Your objective in every game is to become stronger through the completion of challenging tasks, upgrades, and hours of grinding to obtain the strongest equipment

First-person shooter Destiny 2 boasts great gunplay, a ton of PvE events, and a good but frequently overlooked PvP option. One of the many Guardians in Destiny 2 is a strong soldier with unique skills. You can select from three different classes and have access to a large number of weapons and swords. Rich mythology abounds in Destiny 2, and the plot thickens with every new update. It features amazing mechanics that call for timing, skill, and memorization, as well as dungeons and raids that necessitate a well-coordinated squad. Indeed, playing this game isn't really suited for casual play; it does demand effort and commitment.

.In the third-person action game Warframe, you take on the role of Tenno, an overpowered space ninja. The game is really free-to-play friendly, the movement is very fluid, and the graphics are passable. The goal of Warframe is to gather resources and create new Warframes (classes) and weaponry. Warframe has a plot, but it's more about how you interpret it than it is about following a set path.

The main gameplay mechanic in Warframe is grinding through the same levels and places repeatedly until you have enough resources to create something new. Then, with new Warframes and weapons, you repeat the entire process. Does it age? Quite surprisingly, no.

Warframe's combat is decent, but it's not nearly as fantastic as Destiny 2's. It is pointless to spend time trying to kill every enemy that spawns because other players will usually rush ahead and leave you behind if you can't keep up. Nevertheless, compared to Destiny 2, Warframe is unquestionably more solo-friendly.

2024's Destiny 2: The Good and the Bad

Activision released Destiny 2 as a $60 buy-to-play game when it first launched in 2017. It received a few expansions and a cash shop over the ensuing years. Although the game's fundamentals were sound, many players felt that it lacked content. Subsequently, in 2019, Bungie, the game's developer, severed its connection with Activision and made Destiny 2 available for free. Initially, people were pleased with Destiny 2, but it gradually became harder to get into.

Although you can start Destiny 2 for free, you will only be able to explore roughly 10% of the game's content. You'll need to purchase expansions to see the remainder. How many additions are there? Far too many.

It can be a little confusing to start Destiny 2 in 2024. It's possible that the most costly expansion bundle you purchase won't have everything you need to finish the game. Numerous battle passes, dungeon keys, currencies, cosmetics, and much more are available in the game. As a result, a lot of people argue that Destiny 2 is merely a free-to-play game in name. Even if you purchase every item in the game, which frequently costs more than $100, Destiny 2 will still want more. This is the worst part of all.

However, Destiny 2 is one of the greatest online looter-shooters available if you do have a committed group of pals and enjoy completing daily activities, weekly raids, and weapon collection.

In 2024, Warframe

Launched in 2013, Warframe received fairly mixed reviews. It was empty of content, yet it had potential. Free-to-play games were far less common than they are now. Warframe gradually added more weapons, Warframes, and activities; as a result, it gradually became a remarkably feature-rich game.

Many people agree that Warframe is one of the most enjoyable free-to-play games available.

In addition to purchasing new frames, weapons, boosters, and a ton of other items, you can also earn all of those items just by playing the game. Even better, you can exchange your goods for premium currency with other gamers. If you put in enough time and effort, you might be able to gain everything in Warframe without ever having to pay a single cent. When gamers spend money on Warframe, they frequently claim that they did so because "they wanted to" rather than "they had to."

Which game is best in 2024?

It could take some time to get into, but once you do, it's less expensive and exciting. Picture sourced from Digital Extremes

In 2024, Warframe surpasses Destiny 2. Warframe is merely more affordable, more feature-rich, and more considerate of your time than Destiny 2 while having one of the worst new-player experiences of any game I've ever played. Even while Destiny 2 is a more polished and approachable game, it can frequently feel like a never-ending maze of microtransactions and expansions. These are the reasons why Warframe is a better option than Destiny 2.

What is this week's Destiny 2 Ascendant Challenge?

Ascendant Challenges in Destiny 2 are one of the many components of the complex Curse of the Dreaming City, which traps the region in a three-week time cycle.

If you're daring enough to venture onto the Ascendant Plane in pursuit of wealth, the curse progresses from weak to strong to strongest, and with each cycle comes an abundance of fortune to seek. There are six Ascendant Challenges in all in Destiny 2, and they change each week. They are a reliable source for Dreaming City merchandise, such as reissues of Twilight Oath, Waking Vigil, and Tigerspite. A piece of Legendary gear is awarded upon completion of an Ascendant Challenge, but if you have Petra Venj's weekly reward, you can obtain an additional drop.

Every week, Ascendant Challenges provides one item of gear in addition to another from Petra's bounty. Since those goals are character-based, completing Ascendant Challenges by itself will earn you six pieces of Dreaming City gear.

You must use an item called Tincture of Queensfoil, which can be obtained from Petra Venj for five Legendary Shards or found in boxes all across the Dreaming City, to locate the entrance to the Ascendant Challenge. Every Ascendant Challenge will have a unique entry, and even though the challenge itself is updated weekly, the entrance stays in the same location.

How to locate and finish the Ascendant Challenge in the Keep of Honed Edges

The enormous building across from where Petra Venj normally stands in Rheasilvia is called Harbinger's Seclude, and this is where you may find the Keep of Honed Edges Ascendant Challenge. Enter and proceed to the finish where a statue of Techeu is located. If you have applied a Tincture of Queensfoil, you can view the portal above its head. By the path that leads to the statue, search for an Ascendant passage.

Head inside the portal and you’ll find an Awoken structure with enemies and Hive Knights in the middle. Clear the few starting enemies in front of you, then pick up the sword once you can. Use it to vanquish everything in your path, and once the coast is clear, get to the portal across from you. The sword helps here, but watch out for incoming flying rocks (more likely than you think).

What is the Nightfall weapon this week in Destiny 2?

Nightfalls can be one of the most challenging activities in Destiny 2 on higher difficulties. Luckily for Guardians, they come with rewards to match. Each week, at least one Nightfall weapon will be in rotation and can drop from Nightfall completions.
